DLP technology:

DLP is an abbreviation that stands for "Digital Light Processing". This technology makes use of a digital micro-mirror device (DMD). DMD is a small, rectangular device made up of as many as two million microscopic mirrors. Each mirror corresponds to one pixel of the overall picture. These mirrors will point towards or away from a projection lens, depending on if the corresponding pixel needs to be turned on or off. Using a white-lamp, the picture is generated by the reflected light. However, this produces a picture in gray-scale. So, to produce color, a color wheel is added. This technology is available in projection television systems.

DLP technology & Laser TVs:

The Laser TV technology is based on projection-television systems using DLP technology. However, instead of using a large white-light lamp and a color wheel, laser-TVs use a powerful array of lasers that emit beams of red, green, or blue light. The result is that laser televisions have images that are more vibrant colors than plasma, CRT, or LCD displays.
